Craig Fraser B Bus CPA CFP
Craig commenced his working life in banking and finance in 1967 and gained 9 years experience in this field before joining Brown & Bird in 1976. He completed his external studies for a Bachelor of Business degree in 1983, and became a Certified Practising Accountant in 1984. He was invited to become a partner in the practice in 1985.
Craig is a Justice of the Peace (Commisioner for Declarations), a Certified Financial Planner and an authorised representative with Lonsdale Ltd, licensed dealer in securities.
His practice responsibilities include training for all staff, and marketing of the practice. Craig provides management accounting and taxation services for his group of clients as well as local government and real estate auditing. His continued interests in accounting and financial planning provide him with the tools to help clients build their asset base through negative gearing, shares, property and fixed interest assets. Superannuation including self-managed funds are used where appropriate.
Craig has taken a keen interest in the business of private schooling and is Chairman of the Board of Whitsunday Anglican School. His other interests include bush-walking and gardening. He is married to Linda and has two sons.
Chris Wright B Bus CPA
Chris completed his Bachelor of Business degree at Central Queensland University and joined the workforce as an accountant in Mackay. He joined Brown & Bird in August 1994, and was awarded the title of Certified Practising Accountant in December 1995. Chris was admitted as a partner in July 1999.
Chris has an interest in primary production, as well as general taxation, business management and financial services. His objective is to provide clients with an overall accounting and business service so they may achieve financial security, as well as their lifestyle goals. Chris enjoys being a part of the Brown & Bird team, as he believes we are a firm with a commitment to providing innovative and quality services so as to benefit all clients.
Chris is married to Tania, a local hairdresser and they have three children, Sarah, Callum and Georgia. He enjoys rugby union, rugby league and would play more golf if he could.
Ian Joblin B Bus CPA
Ian completed the Bachelor of Business degree at the University of New England and is a Certified Practising Accountant. He joined Brown & Bird in early 1995 after moving to Mackay. Ian has been involved in public accounting since leaving school in 1989.
Ian has a special interest in taxation planning and management accounting, working with a wide variety of clients. His focus is client service, which he achieves through a pro-active role with innovative ideas for the firm's clients. Ian has a genuine desire to assist his clients to achieve the future growth and quality of life they want from their business. Ian assists with staff training of the Brown & Bird team.
Ian is married to Lyneece and they have three children, Travis and Ethan & Lara. Ian's interests include rugby union, golf and fishing.
Michael Burgess B Bus CPA
Michael completed his Bachelor of Business Degree at the Queensland University of Technology (Brisbane Campus) and is a Certified Practising Accountant. He has worked for various Brisbane-based accounting firms for the last 20 years prior to joining Brown & Bird in April 2000 to manage our Brisbane Office.
Michael has built up an extensive knowledge in all areas of taxation and management accounting due to the wide variety of clients he has serviced over the years. He is deeply committed to helping clients achieve both their business and personal goals.
Michael was admitted as a partner at Brown & Bird in June 2001 and in Febuary 2005 became the partner in charge of Technology Division.
Michael is married to Pauline and they have a son. His interests include rugby union, golf and cooking, and he playes more golf than Chris.
Andrew Duck
The partners of Brown and Bird have great pleasure in announcing that Andrew Duck will become a partner of the firm from the 1st July 2006. Andrew was born in Mackay and has been an accountant with Brown and Bird since 1994. He specialises in tax, audit and consulting. Andrew’s contribution to the management team will provide fresh ideas and youthful energy to a partnership that has always tried to blend youth and experience to provide a balanced, long term approach to our advice and client support.
